Since you want to connect from outside, check the comments in especially if you are able to setup ssh with public key.Īlternative is This starts vncservers via socket on 5900, presenting you a normal login screen where you can select user and session as usual. In my case, session=lxqt gives me a vncserver with lxqt session, KDE should be plasmaX11. Available sessions are in /usr/share/xsessions as.

Important is /etc/tigervnc/ers, entry should be present.Īnd important is a file ~/.vnc/config based on the vncserver-config examples in /etc/tigervnc.Ĭritical is the parameter "session". If not configured properly, starting kills my Mate desktop on :0. Last edited by Jinux 24th April 2022 at 08:17 PM.
#FEDORA TIGERVNC HOW TO#
If anyone can guide me though how to fix this, or if theres another open source RDP/VNC server I can use, it would be greatly appriciated! :)
#FEDORA TIGERVNC PC#
KRFB (I use the KDE spin with Wayland) but KRFB asks for which display to use at startup, so if I'm not in front of the PC it's useless (I have a 4 monitor setup), and the last option is using something like DWAgent or TeamViewer, but I'd prefer to use something I can self host/is open source. I'm very confused about how to get this working as it seems my only other options are A. Following the one on FedoraDocs gets you a "Display is not configured for this user" error, and the other guide gets you these errors "Failed to execute /sbin/runuser: Permission denied" "Failed at step EXEC spawning /sbin/runuser: Permission denied". The Tl'Dr version of his post is that there are 2 main guides on setting up TigerVNC on Fedora, and neither of them seem to work. I'm currently running into what seems to be an unsolved issue, as I found a reddit post here with a person who was experiencing verbatim the same issue I was. Hi all, I'm currently trying to set up any kind of VNC server for my main desktop so I may access it while I go on vacation this summer.
